Assistant Director, Duke Service-Learning
Dane supports Duke Service-Learning by assisting the Director with strategic planning, representing the program to the community, facilitating the application of the service-learning designation in the registration system, supervising a cohort of Service-Learning Graduate Assistants, serving as co-advisor for the student group LEAPS, and managing the program's communications, finances, and events. Dane joins the team after working in several areas of the community engaged learning field including positions as an evaluator of training programs for the Developing World Healthcare Technologies Lab at Duke, a site coordinator for DukeEngage, and an instructor and program coordinator for the APPLES Service-Learning Program, a part of the Center for Public Service at UNC. Dane received his Master's in Public Health, focused in Health Behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In his free time he likes to cook and go see live music.
