Master of Divinity Student

I am a third-year student in the Divinity School, where I anticipate graduating with my Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in May of 2024. I have a longstanding interest in addressing concerns related to food access, as well as ecology and sustainability, from the perspective of Christian belief and practice. To that end, I am pursuing a certificate in Faith, Food, and Environmental Justice. My most important roles at this point in my life are those of husband to Rachel and father to our son, who is 2 1/2, and a daughter who we expect to join us in December of 2023.

For the second-year, I am serving as the SLA for Sociology 264 - Death and Dying, taught by Dr. Deborah Gold as it has been since its inception many years ago. So, I am helping to nurture partnerships with local nursing homes and memory care centers that Duke students have been visiting for decades. Students generally report their time at these sites to be very impactful on them, and we know the community partners greatly value their presence, as well. I am honored to play a small role in fostering this important work.
