Listen, Engage and Reflect

June 30, -
Alice Walker, American novelist and social activist once said:
I think we have to own the fear that we have of
each other, and then, in some practical way, some
daily way, figure out how to see people differently
than the way we were brought up to.
Using Ms. Walker's quote as a way to begin a conversation together, join Dr. Zoila Airall to talk about some of the lessons each of us has learned from our families, educational institutions, the media, religious institutions, etc. that support or inhibit the ways in which we see people differently. What are the stories on which we base our fears? What are the ways we have overcome these fears? What keeps us stuck and what are the ways we are encouraged to move on? We will use the time together to listen, engage, and reflect on the stories shared as a way to improve one's well-being.
