Major in Neuroscience; Minor in French
Hello all, my name is Sara V! I'm a current junior planning on majoring in neuroscience with a minor in french. This semester I'm part of the Global Fellows Program where I'm deepening my intercultural and leadership skills by serving Duke's international community. In my free time, I enjoy language learning, visiting new restaurants in Durham, and watching films. In the future, I aim to support and improve mental health among marginalized and displaced communities.
As an SLA for French 308, I'm fortunate enough to support Madame Florand in this dynamic course focused on the complexity surrounding food and culture. Students are encouraged to gain a greater understanding of food sources and production within Durham. Our current community partners include Root Causes, Duke Campus Farms, Bull City Farms, etc. In the end of the semester, students will be able to share their own research and preparation of a personal dish, culminating in a class cookbook.
