I’m a junior majoring in Biology, with minors in Spanish and Global Health. At Duke, I’m involved in stroke research, serve on the LDOC committee, and am active in the Pre-Dental Society.
My service-learning journey began in Spanish 306, where I volunteered with Root Causes to distribute food and translate for food-insecure community members across Durham. That experience was so impactful that I continue to volunteer with Root Causes today. This year, I’m serving as a Service-Learning Assistant for Spanish 306 with Professor Joan Clifford and Spanish 313 with Professor Bethzaida Fernández. I’m excited to help fellow students connect with community partners and discover the same sense of purpose I’ve found through service-learning.
